Delosperma
Most species of this sun-loving, succulent bloom all summer with brilliantly colored narrow-petaled daisies. A local favorite is the Purple Iceplant that blooms vividly in bright fuchsia (some say magenta) and has leaves that turn reddish-purple through the winter. Other color choices include yellow, red, orange and purple.
Used as a groundcover, Iceplants thrive in dry and hot environments, need well-drained soil and are drought-tolerant once established.
