Antirrhinum majus
Snapdragons are available in various heights and spreads so gardeners have many ways to use them in flower beds and containers, even hanging baskets. Choices include:
- Dwarf plants 8-12″ tall
- Intermediate plants 12-24” tall
- Tall plants 24-36” tall
They do best in fertile, well-drained soil and require a moderate amount of water, need regular fertilizing and occasional deadheading to to keep them blooming from spring until frost. They can be drought tolerant once established, but it’s best to water them when the surface of the soil feels dry.
They attract birds and butterflies and are deer tolerant.
